Nick Settle, North Wales Crusaders Director, said, “We are really pleased to have Becki onboard as head coach for our historic first women’s team. It’s very fitting to announce her appointment on International Women’s Day.
After speaking with Becki about the project, you could see her passion for growing the women’s game in North Wales. This was a key factor for us as well as her wealth of club and international experience. She is an excellent person to lead this team into a bright future.
Creating a women’s Crusaders team has been a long ambition of the club. The set-up of the foundation is allowing us to achieve our goal. It’s great to see the hard work behind the scenes now coming together for the launch of this exciting programme on the 26th March”.
The Club and Foundation are launching a women's and girls programme later this month, supported and funded by Wales Rugby League and Sports Wales.
The programme will run three age groups:
1. Under 14's
2. Under 16's
3. Female open-aged players (17+)
We are looking for players, coaches and volunteers to support the launch of this exciting programme. It’s open to all ability levels and creates an excellent pathway to play regularly for North Wales Crusaders and possibly onto international honours for Wales Rugby League - Rygbi Cynghrair Cymru
