This weekend sees North Wales Crusaders take on Royal Navy Rugby League in the second round of the Betfred Challenge Cup. The game has been scheduled to ensure that fans will be able to watch all the action at Stadiwm CSM at 2pm and then follow that with the Wales v England Six Nations fixture at 4.45pm.
North Wales Crusaders will be looking to bounce back from a 38-18 defeat against League One favourites Dewsbury Rams in the first game of the season. Despite the loss, Crusaders had plenty of positives to take from the game with a number of players making their debuts including Owain Abel, Taylor Pemberton and Josh Lynch who all went over the try line for Cru. Fans favourite Rob Massam put in a solid performance on the wing and is currently 2 tries away from a milestone 200 career tries.
Royal Navy secured their place in the second round after beating Barrow Island 28-16 at Burnaby Road, Portsmouth. RNRL were down by 12 points within the first 20 minutes but a solid performance from then on ensured a memorable win against the NCL side.
To celebrate the Royal Navy's visit the club will be offering free entry for any armed forces personnel and veterans (with valid ID), free entry for kids and a discounted entry price of £10 for adults. The game will take place at Stadiwm CSM, Colwyn Bay on Saturday 25th February with a 2pm kick off. Both sets of players will be at The Park pub after the fixture to watch the Six Nations game and all fans are welcome to join them.
